Father passed away, looking for his car.
Hello All, first post here. My father passed away in 2014, and over the years I had a number of conversations with him about his first car; a 1975 Trans-Am. I’m finally in a position where I’d like to find and purchase this car, but I don’t have the VIN.
I know the year, make and model, color, license plate #, state he had it registered in and obviously his name. I also have a few photos, but of course it could look very different now some 46 years later. Is there a way to find the car with only this info or am I on a wild goose chase? I have no way of getting any additional info. I actually am not even sure how I’d find the car if I did have the VIN but I feel like that’s the logical first step. This is a long shot I know, but I appreciate any info anyone can provide. Thanks! |

Re: Father passed away, looking for his car.
DMV is the place to start. What year was the lat year he owned it? Further back you go, harder it will be to find - and unfortunately, the more likely it's gone to the scrapyard - we are talking a 46-year-old vehicle.
Best of luck.
