Extended start. Everything is new
I’ve been tinkering with this truck for 3-4 months now. I got it running pretty good I think, but, it still has an extended start. Here’s a breakdown of what was done so far. Ive replaced the following:
Fuel pump Fuel filter FPR All 8 fuel injectors Spark plugs Wires Distributor Distributor cap Rotor Pickup Coil Ignition module Crank sensor Throttle position sensor MAF sensor Cleaned the IAC Cleaned the throttle body It’s currently throwing a P1345 code that keeps coming back. Ive done a relearn on a brand new crank sensor also. Any ideas? |

Re: Extended start. Everything is new
Yea I guess that would’ve helped if I put that in.
It’s a 1999 GMC K3500 with a 7.4 |

Re: Extended start. Everything is new
P1345 is a crank/cam correlation code. Other than the distributor that’s been replaced twice I never messed with the timing. I made sure the distributor was timed dead on when I put it back together. I triple checked it. This code never showed up until I replace the intake gaskets, fuel injectors and fuel pressure regulator

Re: Extended start. Everything is new
Figured out the problem. I had the rotor pointing to the number one cylinder, should’ve been pointing to the engraved “8” on the distributor itself instead like a traditional small block. Starts faster now and runs great
