on the 3.5 how do I get the harmonic balancer off? I know that you need to use a 3 arm puller. I have a 3 arm puller but I cant seem to figure it out. can anyone help?

you can't use a generic puller. this is the puller you need to use.

Re: 3.5 Harmonic balancer removal is there a trick?
I found on Auto Zones web site that they rent a puller for Chrysler products. It s part number 27139. I hope that my local Auto Zone stocks this and it works.

i'd think the pulley has to come off to replace the belt.

urclueless, thanks. I got the Chrysler puller from auto zone today. Hopefully I can try and get it off tomorrow. The chiltons just said to use a 3 arm puller and I could not get that to work. Lets hope this one does the trick.

remove the upper radiator support and the fan assembly and you'll find more room to work.

Re: 3.5 Harmonic balancer removal is there a trick?
WOW!! I got that pulley off!! it's on there. You have to pull that little cover at the very bottom and get the puller on just right. Just so everyone knows. You need this special puller to get the harmonic dampener off. Thanks again.
