Missing piston rod (safety)
My 04 TL broke down while driving it. Found a hole in the oil pan about a 2 inch diameter. I was able to drive it 30 ft to park it just before redline. took the oil pan off and found this (pic 1) and the pieces (pic 2). Would it be crazy to put the new oil pan in, fill it with oil and take off? Do I need to fix the piston now?

Re: Missing piston rod (safety)
That engine is trashed. Thinking you can put an oil pan on it and fill it with oil and take off is not thinking at all.

Re: Missing piston rod (safety)
How can you tell? The engine was super strong before the rod gave out. I was thinking some one might say it's crazy but do-able. Like you might just get 5 miles but you might get 1000. I was hoping I could move it to my block without towing.
