Power steering leak question
I have a 2001 Dokota 4x4 4.7 and it is leaking power steering fluid.
A careful trace of the wet fluid leads me to a part just to the right of the power steering reservoir and just above the cooler. It appears to be an electrical coupling of some kind that is mounted in-line of metal tubing that I believe is part of the power steering system. There is a black plastic connection with wires emerging from the top and the wires are covered with a black plastic sheathing. This little electrical connector is sopping wet with the same pink colored fluid that is in my power steering reservoir. This pink fluid is following the wire sheathing down to the under part of the truck and leaving small pink puddles on the driveway. And I am constantly topping off my power steering fluid. I'm wondering what this thing is that is leaking and is it replaceable. I need to know what it is called so I can go to the parts store and get the part. Thanks for your help. Harkauto |
