Branded parts or not?
Would you prefer branded car parts or not? I know that stamped car parts would deliver more reliable products that would last in the long run. The problem is some of these car parts are way too expensive for me so I would appreciate it if you can suggest a brand that offers high-quality parts yet budget-friendly.
Thank you. |

Re: Branded parts or not?
Maybe not what you want to hear as the upfront cost is higher, but in the long term, OEM parts are the most budget friendly parts you can get.

Re: Branded parts or not?
It depends on the part. When I had my Grand Prix and I needed wheel bearings I could have gotten all 4 for under $100, but I opted to spend around $100 each on some Moog's for the 3 I replaced. The 3 year warranty and peace of mind that the build quality brought was worth it.
In the end you have to weigh your options, look at warranties, reviews, and figure out what is going to work best for you.

Re: Branded parts or not?
When it comes to electronics, go OEM.....
As for maintenance items, get the best price, but from a known good manufacturer, like Moog, as Stealthee suggested......those real cheap bearings usually only last a year if you are lucky..... |

Re: Branded parts or not?
For the Important parts, go OEM always ( especially electronics ) , for consumable stuff, tires, brake pads and discs, plugs, wires, bulbs, batteries, alternators, starters, mufflers, Go cheap! Thats my opinion anyway, for what its worth. I'm 56
