Replacing engine and transmission in 1998 Cavalier.

I have a 1998 Cavalier with 240K, but it still gets 30 mpg and does not burn any oil. Runs so good that last year replaced the transmission.
However, my grandson just put it into a ditch!

Last year I purchased a 1999 Cavalier (same color) just to have as a parts car. When I compare the distance on the engines the damaged one is about 1/2" difference, but have been told the frame is damaged.

Want to take the engine and transmission out of the 1998 and install them in the 1999. That engine is blown, has readings of 110,0,0,0. Will just throw that engine and transmission into the trunk of the 1998.

Do you replace the engine and transmission from the top or the bottom? Any idea of the number of hours that would be required?
