1988 jetta fuel leak below injector
I just got a 1988 jetta, 1.8l gas and I think it has a digifant engine management system. It has a 5 speed transmission. I already replaced the gas filter because it was leaking badly. It started good but there was a lot of gas smell coming from the tail pipe. It was not running smooth so tried revving it up a little but the smell of gas got worse so I shut it off. I noticed a strong gas smell from engine compartment where I noticed a small puddle of what I'm assuming was gas below the injectors perhaps leaked from injector area on the left side. Not too sure where to go from here. There doesn't appear to be enough room to take a closer look at the injectors because of the intake manifold. Any helpful suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Re: 1988 jetta fuel leak below injector
problem solved. discovered that the gas was leaking from a small hole in fuel regulator. I patched it up with JB weld. So far it is not leaking.
