Re: Metro LSI Blowing Fuse
I am also having a problem with my 97 geo metro lsi. when i put it in drive it starts off in 3rd gear. I have to manually shift it through the gears. the turn signal lights stopped working when i developed the shifting problem, hence i believe they are related. i have no problem getting out of park because i disabled that shifter solenoid a while back.
I checked every fuse i could find and none appear to be blown, but i have not found any that are labled "brake" "back up light" "turn signal" or "rear", which have mentioned in the posts i have found. Where would the fuse be located, and what exactly is it labled? |

Re: Metro LSI Blowing Fuse
You might want to check the wire bundle leading to the Neutral Safety Switch about one inch from the connection plug there is a wrap around style wire clamp on top of the transmission. I removed the wire bundle from the clamp and found three chafed wires on the lower side of the bundle. After cleaning the oil and dirt from the wires, I packed them with a 50/50 mixture of corn starch and silicone caulking. It would have been too difficult to try and tape the individual wires. I read that this is a common area for the wire bundle to chafe and short. After replacing the fuse everything was back to normal function.
