Tamiya Mercedes 300sl photoetch?
I am looking to buy a photoetch detail set for the Tamiya Mercedes 300sl. I see Studio27, Hobby Design and Acu Stion each have their own sets. I know some of these manufacturers as notorious for including useless parts and/or parts that don't fit. Can anyone recommend one set over another?

I'd go for the cheapest one. In my case it was Hobby Design, which also happened to have the most parts.

I went with the Hobby Design set, only because I could not find the other in stock anywhere at a reasonable price.

Always had problems with the Acu stion stuff fitting. It always seems to be to big.

Re: Tamiya Mercedes 300sl photoetch?
Well, I was thinking to design a PE set for 300SL which contains only the most necessery parts, but I'm always lack of time, so it's never happened... I think the best choise would have been S27, I have a few HD sets, sometimes they are really dissapointing!

One thing lacking with all of the photoetch sets is a radio! I've looked elsewhere at generic photoetch radio faces, but haven't found the right one. It's easy enough to make in styrene, though. |

I already have the luggage set from kbx and just ordered the Rudge wheels. The luggage set is very nice.
I did like the ST27 set better, but could not find any in stock. |
