flywheel

I recently replaced the starter on my 06 500 3.0. I noticed the teeth on the flywheel were a bit warn but I assumed that my bendex would still have enough to grab hold of. I was mistaken. I need to know how to remove the transmission so that I can replace my flywheel. please use pictures so that I can have a decent visual. I can not afford the service manual, and I have searched Google, yahoo and bing.

Re: flywheel

Google u-tube videos on transmission removal. If they have one with pictures it would be a big help.

Re: flywheel

I have researched how to remove the cvt transmission from a Ford 500. Even through YouTube. I've came up empty. I have removed all bell housing bolts. The driver side tire and breaks/caliber. The center nut of the cv axle from the rotor. I have removed the upper mount, the lower mount and starter. I've removed all things in the way from the top of my motor. Must I remove both axles? Is there anything else I need to remove?

Re: flywheel

I've never done a Ford 500 but some vehicles you need to block the back of the motor so it doesn't drop. I've never had to pull an axle.
Using a lift on a Taurus I used a cross bar across the strut mounts and hung the motor on the support and dropped the frame under the front of the vehicle. Haynes manuals usually give instructions on this job.
I made a link for a Ford I think is close to yours. Note after you open link at the bottom the arrows to click to open more pages.
