04 Sienna XLE AWD Limited Suspension Noise
Hi guys:
I have a 2004 Sienna that makes a clunking noise on the right hand side after driving over certain bumps. At first I thought it may be a ball joint but I tried checking for this by grabbing the tire at 12 and 6 and did not budge. Then I thought it could be the strut bearing but I replaced both front struts and the noise is still there. Any suggestions what to check next? Thanks in advance. |

Replace the rubber stabilizer bar bushings (2) on either side of the middle of the sway bar. With the old bushings off, polish the sway bar under the bushings with emory cloth to remove any rust. Salt gets in there causing rust. The rust wears out the bushings until there is enough play to make the sway bar clunk over a bump.
Cheap fix.
