1971 beetle fuel lines
Restoring a Late 1971 Beetle for a customer. Is there an easy way to replace the fuel lines from tank to engine ?

Re: 1971 beetle fuel lines
I wouldlnt call it easy. I did that job on a 64 beetle. I had to pull the old line out of the 'tunnel', and it was work to do it. Getting the new line installed was also a chore, of trying to feed the new line around the obstructions in the spine of the bellypan - mostly the tube that the throttle cable was in. I would recommend you firmly attached a chunk of strong twine to one end of the old fuel line, to help you pull the new one into place. If you are fixing up this car, this would also be a good time to replace the brake lines that run in the 'tunnel'.
