Wheel bearings noisey after only a year
I just had my right front wheel bearings replaced about a little over a year ago. I'm starting to hear that same sound again when I get up around 45 MPH. I've only driven about maybe 8,000 miles since replacing them. It sounds like it's the right front again. Is this unusual for wheel bearings to fail this fast? Is it possible they did something wrong at the shop? Used cheap parts?

I've also seen them fail from under-tightening. A gap allows the inner and outer races to separate further. The bearings then start to ride on those edge points instead of the normal mating surface.

Re: Wheel bearings noisey after only a year
Right now it's not that loud and I have to get up to about 45 MPH before it becomes noticeable. Before it would be noticeable at about 35 and it was louder.
Do you think I will need to replace the whole thing again (obviously at a different shop)? Or is this something which can be "readjusted" in some way and cheaper? |

Nope, if the bearing is noisy, it's too late. Will need a new one. |

Use TIMKIN BEARINGS. Kinda expensive, but will outlast your car.
