2000 s10 Engine stops randomly
Hey I am new to this site and new to cars in general. I recently inherited an s10 that works fine but has a very quirky condition. The engine will stop randomly with no warning while driving down the road after turning off the ignition, wait a minute or two, turn it back on and it works fine for a few more days or couple of weeks, but has been driving me crazy, and isn't very safe The check engine light is on and the code read a bad crank sensor, so I got that replaced, and it didn't fix the issue so the mechanic said that the next step would be to replace the ignition module with the ignition coils. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem? has if so if this a good diagnosis? What have you done to fix the issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

My Brother-in-law's 1995 Jimmy is experiencing the same problem.
My first thought is maybe a crankshaft sensor. However, you tried that. Lets us know if replacing the PCM fixed it? Last edited by oldgearhead; 05-26-2014 at 09:26 AM. |
