2007 Dodge Caliber SXT Safe Mode Prob
My car alarm keeps turning on and I could not start it. I called the dealership and spoke with a service person. He told me that the safe mode was locked and advised me to either bring it in and for them to just look at it will cost me $90 (which I don't have), or to follow these steps: Open the car door with the key, insert the key in the ignition and turn it forward all the way without starting the car and leave it there for at least 4-hours to allow the system to reprogram. Then, take out the key and lock the car. Unlock the car with the key, and start the car.
I followed the instructions but it would not start at all and the alarm goes off. On top of this problem, my battery died. I got a new battery but the car still would not start although all the dashboard indicators were lit. Can someone help me, please? |

Similar thing happened to my mom's Caliber a few years back. It ended up having to go to the dealer and the key had to be reprogrammed or something.
