88 chevy celeb rough idle
My son has a celeb. Has very rough idle and stalls when shifting. We take the sensor that connects to the side of the air cleaner/filter off and the idle returns to normal. The sensor is on the direct right hand side of the round filter cover. Any ideas what this sensor is?

Re: 88 chevy celeb rough idle
If that's the v6, 3.1L engine, then I think that sensor is the MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor, and it detects the amount of air entering the intake. If it's reading is so far off that no reading is better, then you should clean it (use electronic cleaner) or replace it.
