98 3.2 Starting issue
98 3.2 with 150k. During the day in warmer weather the engine seems to start on first key turn in 1-3 seconds. If it sits over night, it won't crank on the first key turn. Have to turn to ACC and let the fuel pump do its thing for 4-5 seconds on the first and second try to get to start. Seems to run fine while driving and starts right back up. From reading here, and tell me if I'm wrong. It could be, MAF sensor, crankshaft position sensor, fuel pressure regulator ? What would you guys check first easiest to hardest ? I ain't too mechanical, ha ha.

Re: 98 3.2 Starting issue
There is a check valve in the fuel pump assembly that is known to fail from time to time. This check valve, when working properly, will hold the fuel pressure in the line. When it fails, fuel pressure slowly bleeds off over night. You can attach a simple fuel pressure gauge directly to the schrader valve on the fuel rail (looks like a tire valve) and observe the pressure. It should hold over night but it probably isn't.

Don't you have to drop the tank for that ?If so, I don't think that I'll be doing that job, ha ha. Besides wasting an extra 20 seconds a day, could that cause any other problems if not replaced ?
