Pickup Fuel Pump Replacement Drop tank or lift bed?

I just watched a utube video that showed: removal of three screws at the filler neck, removal of the 6 forward bolts that hold the bed on, and loosening rear 2 bolts that hold the bed on. Then he just jacked the front of the bed up a couple of feet and their was wide open access to the top of the tank.

Has anyone tried this method? In theory it seems much easier than dropping the tank; Opinions?

Thanks,
Steve
