Didn't find the right parts for 3.8L 98 Lumina

Hi,

we have an coolant leak and the only wet place are the two hoses up on to the belt tensioner.

A couple time ago I replace the tensioner, elbow, upper and lower gasket, Oil is clear.

But I can't find the gasket for the 2 hoses (heater?)

Are these the right one?

if you are looking for an o-ring type seal, easiest way is usually to remove one and take it to the parts store and they will match it from an assortment.

Otherwise you can usually buy a small assortment of o-rings in a pack and it will usually have what you need. Here, anyway, don't know what you have there as far as parts go....

Every time I run across an o-ring in a fuel or cooling system that I don't have, I buy one of these. Has not failed me yet

Have you thought of replacing the whole fitting? Not sure of the cost....

Are you talking about the o-rings that go on the two 90 degree plastic elbows that route the cooling water through the serpentine belt idler to the heater hose then onto the heater and then back to the engine in the reverse order ? If so , replacement elbows will come with the o-rings in place ready to install . The elbows are inexpensive and should be replaced as the plastic deteriorates with age and cracks . This leads to leaks often so slight that they are hard to detect causing a constant low coolant level . Eventually they will fail in a big way leaving you stranded by the side of the road .

Hi,

no I replaced the elbow by changing the tensioner. I mean the 2 rubber hose which going in top of tensioner to the heater I think.

The lower 2 fittings. If anybody have parts for the fitting of these hose is ok too.

Number 8 or 6

Oldblu65 and I are referring to Part #6....it's the fitting that comes with o-ring #8.....you just remove bolt #7, and the fitting comes out....I personally would replace the whole fitting instead of just the o-ring....
