Needless Spending: 10 Automotive Money-wasters
If you've ever owned a car for more than a year, you have no doubt experienced at least one (if not several) instance care maintenance.
Whether you're changing the oil, having a powertrain service done or even filling your tank, most maintenance you do is something you feel compelled to do. If you've only ever heard of changing your oil every three months/three-thousand miles, then you'll do that based on the idea that if you don't, your car will not function as well and you'll have to spend more than you would have had you just gotten the oil changed on time in the first place. But what if some of these services - three-month oil changes, fuel system treatments, etc - are misunderstood or altogether unnecessary? According to Jerry Edgarton of CBS MoneyWatch, that is precisely the case for many things that we, as car owners, feel are necessary to ensure our cars run properly. In a recent report, Edgarton focused on 10 ways car owners waste their money on their cars: Quote:
