Stock Radio for installing Subs/Amp?
Hey everyone,
I'm looking to install some sub woofers in my 1999 ford explorer. I've heard that I would need to purchase an aftermarket CD player/radio. I currently have the stock one in there, and am wondering if that would work, to install my amp to the player. http://factoryradioservice.com/images/MVC-098S_FO.JPG There's a picture of my radio I currently have in there. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. -Rob |

Re: Stock Radio for installing Subs/Amp?
typically, yes but it mostly depends on whether the factory radio has a built-in rolloff on the lower end. You might want to find a forum that is specific to your vehicle, they would would have more knowlede about it than anyone here.

i've used these before, i can't really speak highly of the signal that it puts out, but i will allow you RCA outs for your amplifier, just tap into the speaker wires in the rear of the vehicle

yes, the LOC can just wire straight off the speakers in the back without ever removing the headunit.

Re: Stock Radio for installing Subs/Amp?
For your ford explorer you will need a line output converter u dont need a aftermarket deck it simple hooks up to yer speaker wire in the back and has rcas on the box so u can put your amp rcas in to it
