90 corsica radiator fan not working
90 chevy corsica, radiator fan not coming on. tested fan it works, changed temp sensor and fan relay, still not working. I read a post that said to test the relay wires which i did, the pink wire on relay should not light up when tested, mine did! It said to replace the coil packs, went to my local parts store, we looked for where the pink wire and white wire where suppose to connect to on coil pack but unable to determine where they go. please help!!!!!!! looks like to me, they plug in beside the coil pack, what would that be called that they plug into? is there somethig else i can do that i am missing?

Re: 90 corsica radiator fan not working
did you check the cooling fan switch?
the temp sensor by the thermostat housing does not control the fan, it is a common mistake people make when the fan dies to replace wrong sensor. check the right side of the coil pack, one of the plugs is for CPS, the other i am not sure, there is also a bigger plug on the left side of the pack |

Did you check the fuse + relay?
The electric fan sensor can be cleaned + test too! Last edited by danielsatur; 09-02-2010 at 12:43 PM. |

Re: 90 corsica radiator fan not working
my corsica has two coil packs? do the coil packs have anything to do with the fan? i figured that just for plug wires and ignition. thx

Re: 90 corsica radiator fan not working
1 coil pack with multiple coils on a single module
coils do not affect the fan it is a different circuit there is a 1 wire cooling fan control switch that triggers the fan the 2 wire sensor is the gauge and ECM there is also a relay and fuse, if you find they are both good and the motor works you have to get a new switch once you replace the switch the fan should operate, make sure you get the switch that matches the temperature of your thermostat |
