drl and lcm questions
Hey and thanks in advance for any responses.
First... just acquired a 96 Aurora with a few(lol) issues. I know that the tranny had been changed/rebuilt recently and am wondering how the drl switch is connected to the "park" mode which disables DRL when shifted from drive to park.... (how and where)? The cars DRl remain on after ignition is off and key is out. I know that the LCM could be faulty... I have cleaned the MFS as suggested in another thread... without success and am suspecting the LCM. Does the LCM have another name...? On most forums its been called the Lamp Control Module, under the dash(driver side) on the right hand side of the white plastic bracket to the right of the emergency brake. The one I have seems to have been overheated(scorched)... and is still getting quite hot. I suspect the DRL switch or a short heating up the LCM so I will attempt to track that down... but I can't seem to find the actual circuit board(LCM). thanks again ~ mark |

Re: drl and lcm questions
K.... Replaced the LCM and all lights seem fine. Got the part used from a bone yard... with a minor problem. The rectangular connector pin had a broken lead(purple wire). Can anyone tell me what that connects to? ty
