AC Trouble Shooting Question
The AC in my 97 Saturn SL2 quit this past October so with winter so so close I let it go. This weekend I started to try and figure out what need to be done. The clutch would not engage unless I shorted out the low pressure switch so figured there was a leak so I tried to add some R-134 with a dye just using a recharge kit. It did not help at all and I could not see any dye.
I obtained a set of manifold gauges an the static pressure was only 45 psi. I jumped the low pressure switch and the pressures remained the same. The low side did not drop and the high side did not increase. The question I have is it two problems a leak and bad compressor or could it just be a bad leak? |
