Suggest an amp

For 2 cheap VR3 400watt max subs. Budget is cheap. Under 100 bucks.

I want to run both of them near or at 400watt if possible.

Appreciate any help

400 watt max is usually 200 watts RMS. Any amp that puts out 400-500 watts RMS at the right ohm load will work

I dug up the paper that came with one of the VR3s. These are the specs;
-400 Watts Max Peak Power
-40 Watts RMS
-35 to 2000hz freq. response
-1.5" ASV Voice coil
-Impedance 4 Ohms +/- 15%
-Sensitivity 87db 1W/1M Minimum

I dont want to overpower them and cause damage. would a 200+ watt rms cause damage?

Yeah thats right. I know they aren't powerful but I do want to get some sound out of them for now. I hooked them up to my radio which is 60watts max, turned it all the way up and barely had any sound.

Re: Suggest an amp

you can run a fairly low powered amp, like 50-75 watts per channel for them

that seems kinda odd. i looked around on youtube and found a vid review of my vr3s. it seems they can handle 200watt rms, but would they be damaged by that wattage over prolonged usage..

edit: how would this be for them? http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...oss+CX150.html
