dashboard chatter/noise? 2000 Astro

Any ideas why my Astro periodically has this annoying chatter noise from the driver side dash? Then it will go away and the van is quiet as it should be. Comes and goes with no predictability. When it's happening I can quiet it by pressing down on the vinyl dash, so it is a friction noise.
Will silicone spray work or do I have to disassemble the dash area?
Thanks for ideas.

I have noticed a similar problem on the passenger side. I've narrowed it down to times when my spouse is in the passenger seat. I'm not yet certain if it is due to the redistribution of mass or my tendencies to attempt to concentrate on the act of driving and what entertainment may be on the radio, or some other phenomenon, but I digress.

Have you noticed a pattern based upon temperature changes?

You can try a silicone product near the seams, but try to avoid the HVAC outlets as they will become very loose and sloppy with lubrication.
