brake light and dashboard cleaning
Two-fold question:
It's my understanding that Armor All has some major drawbacks. i.e.; the surface gets addicted to it and if you don't regularly give it a "fix", your dash ends up cracking on you. Is there validity to that argument? And if so, what are some good alternatives as far as protection is concerned? Secondly, is it possible for simply cold temperatures to cause a brake warning light to come on? The brakes feel fine, but early in the morning there's that brake warning light? Fluid level is fine so I don't know what it is if it isn't the cooler temperatures. What household chemical works good on cleaning the dash? Dish soap? Lysol? Windex?

Re: brake light and dashboard cleaning
Did you confirm the indicator is a brake warning indicator? It is somewhat common for the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) warning indicator to come on in cold weather and go out as the tires warm up and the pressure increases.

Re: brake light and dashboard cleaning
Not sure about your brake problem but for cleaning the int, I use diluted Simple Green. Seems to work good.
If it is really grungy, try some 409 cleaner and follow up with some protectant. I use mothers protectant which works really well and lasts long. Good for the tires also.

Re: brake light and dashboard cleaning
I've never had any problems with usin the stuff on my ride. I give my dash and everything a coat once a week and I've never had any problems. But it depends are you looking to get it clean or clean and give it a shine. For cleaning, winded really does do a fine job unless the dash is like, coated with grime and everything.

Re: brake light and dashboard cleaning
once a week? I understand the problem to be that the dash gets "addicted" to the AA treatment and dries up and cracks if it doesn't get its fix. Of course it depends how dedicated one would be to accomplishing it on a regular basis. Knowing me I would get absent-minded and forget.
