Best cheap MBC

So after I get my exhaust, and get my ECU installed, I am going to up the boost. My external WG is sprung to 9psi, and I want to up it, so I figured the best way would be a MBC. Which one would you guys recommend. I need something priced with the poor man in mind.

Re: Best cheap MBC

I got mine off ebay for less than 15 shipped and it works great. Its kind of hard to screw up a ball and spring

Re: Best cheap MBC

The one I use is a Ebay cheapo and it works fine, just mine is very touchy. I had to cut the spring inside because it was too long. With the screw in just 1 thread the boost be at like 18psi so when I cut the spring it allowed me to adjust a bit more with the same resistance with less travel. Holds good so can't complain.

I also spent $15 on ebay for a ball and spring one. Never actually had one working yet do to hosing issues... but from what I hear the ball and spring are the best.

The guy that I went through was very good too. The first one I had wans't working right and gave great product support and even sent me out another one too.

Re: Best cheap MBC

Buy the low-end Hallman unit and forget worrying what type of ball, what quality spring, etc is in your BC.

Re: Best cheap MBC

Looks like a good boost controller just pretty expensive. I made my electric dual stage boost controller for about 20$. Can either run the wastegate spring or the MBC setting.

Re: Best cheap MBC

I tend to be picky about crucial components on the car...well ALL components on the car, really. Nothing "ebay" will ever be installed. I'm after perfect fitment, warranties, performance, and things working the first time around. My cheapest purchase is oil as I don't run synthetic.

That being said, the Hallman Evo came with this car purchase. I wouldn't even trade it for an EBC it works so well.
