Desperately need advice on reatta
I am new to this site and desperately need some help. I am interested in purchasing a reatta. I remember seeing one in the buick showroom in 1988 and thought they were the sharpest sportscar that I had ever seen. I remember that the top was down and I thought that it had a back seat and being told that you could get a hard top for the convertible. I have looked on the internet and cannot find any reference to a hard top. Can any one tell me about the reatta and its options. Also, the prices that I am seeing online are much highter than kbb, nada and edmund's pricing for excellent condition. Is this normal? for the owners of the reatta's do you have maintenance problems and if so what is normal? Are the parts hard to find since the car is discontinued? Is there more room in a coupe than a convertible? As you can tell any information would be greatly appreciated. thanks, Mamajen

I wouldn't have a Reatta even if it was given to me!

Re: Desperately need advice on reatta
My mom has a 1990 Reatta and loves it. There have been no problems, with the exception of a dead battery from sitting.
I am not aware that GM made a hard top for the convertible. I've never seen one. All Reattas were two seaters, most were coupes and some convertibles. Most mechanical bits are off the shelf GM parts for drive train and suspension. Performance is OK with the only engine being the 3.8 V-6 and 4spd auto. All Reattas were basically fully equipped with power options. You will find that prices will be higher than book value because owners are trying to cash in on the collector status of the car. |

Check the dates before posting, this is over 2 years old, a response is doubtful, thanks,.
