97 Tracer won't start
My daughter slid her car off the road and packed the engine compartment full of snow. Towed home and allowed all the snow to melt from the engine compartment. Getting fuel and spark to all cylinders. Cylinders have compression. Timing belt is OK. Valves are working. Fuses are OK.
Is there some connector that could have came loose from the packed snow that prevent it from starting? |

Re: 97 Tracer won't start
The CPS (crankshaft positon sensor) is just above and to the left of the crankshaft pulley. It picks up a signal from the harmonic balancer as to where the crankshaft is and sends spark to the plugs at the right time. The wiring to the CPS could have been knocked off or the position of the CPS could have been knocked out. The CPS should be within a quarter of an inch or less on the harmonic balancer.
