Daughter drove into Median - wiped out left side wheels
About a week ago, my 18 year old daughter drove into a median in an intersection
at around 30 mph while yakking with her friends. Blew the left front tire and the left back tire. Front and back wheels bent. Repair shop had to get two used wheels and two new tires just to get the '99 Esteem 1.8 L rolling to check out the suspension. About $250 for those things. Shop told me the back seems OK, but the front was bent. Lower left control arm, the left and right axles, the sway bar and the left Engine Cradle were bent. $980 parts & labor! Engine cradle has to be shipped from the East Coast. I hope that that is all.....this was close to "Totaling" the car..... I am hoping that the car doesn't shimmy at 70 mph after getting an alignment. She is paying for all this out of her summer job. Probably about $1,300. I wonder if her 'conversation' was worth it.....? Teenagers......! DoctorBill

Re: Daughter drove into Median - wiped out left side wheels
Glad she is ok (your daughter) live and learn I did my fair share of denting things when I you a teenager, best way to make kids learn is to make them pay for something out of their own pocket.
That sucks about the deer though (other posting). |
