Unhappy 97 lumina still no start

97 3.1 sedan
with 146,000 ok until now

The kid ran out of gas and fried the fuel pump, replaced and now barely cranks.
fuel pump is reading 42psi at rail
have spark at cylinders

I have done the following;
new starter
both crankshaft and camshaft position sensors
new fp regulator
new fuel filter
cleaned and checked battery, draws down to 11.4 volts when key is turned onto start
all fuses and fusable links checked out ok
MAF sensor replaced
anything else I can check and thanks for any suggestions

Check valve timing (timing chain slipped?)

Re: 97 lumina still no start

IF you pull a plug, can you smell gas getting to cylinders? (be careful due to fire/explosion hazard - don't try to start with plug out).

If not, maybe the injector(s) is/are clogged or disconnected, or the injector solenoid is dead/open circuit.

If you are getting gas, there should be firing or misfiring.

Maybe some dirt got in line when you changed fuel pump (do you mean fuel filter?)

Maybe fuel filter is clogged with dirt/rust. Where are you measuring fuel line pressure? at tank or engine?

Unhappy Re: 97 lumina still no start

Found problem while checking timing chain. binding of engine followed by no resistance. Removed valve cover, turned crank and three rockers moved the others just laid there like road kill. (Broken Camshaft)
Just coincidence the kid ran out of gas at the same time.

thanks to all for suggestions
