Thinking about selling the DSM
The other week I pulled the car out of the garage and decided to go ahead and throw a brand new MLS mitsu headgasket on the eclipse for the summer. I finished putting the new HG on and I didn't have the head resurfaced (Had a bad HG from last summer) So the new HG lasted about a day untill it started to burn a little bit of coolant. So, basically I would love to keep the car but, as any DSM owner knows the parts buying and hours spent in the garage never really end. Seeings how I'm going to be a daddy in about 7 months and some of my other hobbies are coming first now I'm not feeling so bad letting this thing go.
The car will obviously need a new HG soon and I would highly suggest having the head resurfaced. The car also needs a new starter. Other than that the car is pretty solid. I just threw a bunch of money at it last summer so there are alot of goodies on it. Bored/Stroked Bottom End (built by extreme motorsports) -Eagle 100mm crank (2.3L) -Manley H beam "turbo tuff" rods -Wiesco Pistons (+.020") Built Head -FP Comp Cam2 -Topline Revised Lifters -Brian Crower Springs -Brian Crower Titanium retainers -Ferrea Valve Locks -Ferrea Valve stem seals -SI SS valves(nitrided) Bullseye T04B 57 Trim turbo with 38mm internal wastegate RNR 3" turboback with o2 eliminator with a Bullet muffler Arospeed intake 255lph Extreme Motorsports fuel pump Extreme Motorsports manual boost controller Magnecor 8.5mm plug wires NGK BPR7es plugs SAFC HKS turbo timer Front Brembo cross drilled/slotted rotors with ceramic pads Greddy Type S BOV Enkei rims wrapped in BRAND NEW General tires Big front mount intercooler(core is 28x10.5x3.5) 2.5 inch short route intercooler piping FIC 650cc injectors RK Sport fuel pressure regulator Before the car was stuck in the garage for the winter the car dynoed 290AWHP and 301 Ft/Lbs of torque at 17psi. This setup obvioulsy has alot more potential. The only other thing I would suggest is an aftermarket clutch because the 301ft/lbs is really pushing the stock clutch. I launched it once with the new motor and it held pretty well but, you can feel in the higher RPMS after a couple good pulls that the clutch starts to slip. The body has about 160k miles on it. The motor has about 2k miles on it. Anyone have an suggestions on an asking price?
