Mr2 problem..Please Help!

Just bought a 91 mr2 non-turbo, car runs decent, no check engine light on but car wont rev past 4k, idles at 2k and fuel economy is awful.... alredy checked basics everything lookes good just having these issues... any idea what it could be?

Trying hooking up a vacuum gauge and revving the motor and letting off, see how it responds. The vacuum should snap back pretty quick. If it takes a bit to go back to regular, or the numbers are way off, a clog somewhere in the intake or exhaust system could be a cause.

Took it to a shop, previous owner had changed timing belt, was way off timing, that solved my reving problem but still idles high only when cold, goes down when warm, could it be tbs?

How high, a little bit is normal lets say between 1200-1500 rpm. Its just a fast idle til the engine warms up and the cold start injector shuts off

At around 2k, does it even when engine is warm it just stops when i start driving it
