Question Strange new sound - exhaust problem ???

Hi !

Can anyone help me identify this problem ?

I've had a Renault Clio II since 2001 (purchased a new car). Recently I started hearing faint "strange" very high pitched sounds emerging from the exhaust pipe. I've visually inspected the complete exhaust system and found absolutely no visual signs of wear and tear.

Had anyone a similar problem? What should I do (go to the mechanic or ignore sqeaking) ?

With regards,

matevz mutec

Re: Strange new sound - exhaust problem ???

Not sure how old this post is but here goes...

I had a similar issue which got slowly worse over time! I would advise you to check the baffles (if thats the correct spelling) by giving them a light to medium whack! (Inside the exhaust Box's if you have more than one.)

If a rattling sound is heard, it may mean you need to replace the offending box.

This may not be what your after, but its worth checking anyway.
(Please make sure the engine is cold before you touch it! I wouldn't want to be responsible for you burning yourself!)

Tom.
