Re: the 4a-ge
you will almost never get one unless you knwo some people high in the racing industry. They are for sale however for around 15000 and on. Putting on into a trueno isnt that simple either. You have to do alot of different things to make it fit and work right. It isnt jsut like dropping in the 4age 20v even though it is same block and stuff. The oil lines ar way different and if you do not get them right you can mess the motor up. Please dont think that the ae86 is a fast car. Infact it is one of the slowest cars i have ever driven in stock form. If you were to do a motor swap be my guest but it still will never be like initial d. Dont get me wrong they are great for drifting though if you do it right. Ok now as for the best engine for one, Well it is all up to you and how much you want to spend. If you want to spend alot of money on a N/A motor then go 20v but if you do not want to spend lots of money on N/A go for a redtop. If you would like to go for lots of power and forced induction then go with a 4agze. Or again if you want to spend lots of money go with the 20v and put lower compression pistons in it and turbo that. I just have to say that anything with an ae86 is going to be expensive.

Re: the 4a-ge
can any1 with personal experience advice me on a safe engine mod for the silver top 20v i was thinkin a turbo or nitro but would i be in danger of blowing the engine if i dont change the pistons ? i was also thinkin larger throttle bodies but not sure if il get enough power from them and where to get them from ? another thing is when the car is idle it kind of sounds like a diesel Last edited by trueno20v; 12-03-2006 at 10:37 PM. |
