Mirror memory on 2002 (arrgghhh!!!!)
Am I the only who has made several trips to the dealer because the mirrors won't hold memory? We don't even use the curb assist feature but on every ignition one or the other of the mirrors (usually passenger) does something stange. Nearly three accidents already because of passenger mirror pointing up! Yes I have 'saved' about a zillion times. Any success stories??

Have they referenced TSB 04-08-64-021, erratic outside mirror operation?

I had the mirrors fixed/replaced 3 times on my '02 LTZ. Just traded it in for an '04 so hopefully they got the problem fixed by now.
Yeah, wishful thinking, I know. It's not exclusive to the TB's, either. A friend has a '02 Envoy that's been in twice for the same thing. |

Were you still under the 3/36 warranty?

Mirror Memory on 2002 TrailBlazer
Since I bought my 2002 Trail Blazer in October 2001, I have had it in to the dealer 6 or more times to fix the mirrors. I have had trouble with both mirrors. Sometimes both at once and sometimes one at a time. I have had new mirrors put on, updated programs put in, new memory modules installed, and this time they are installing new mirror actuators. This is very frustrating and unfortunately, I am out of the warranty period so every time I have to get them fixed, it is a fight with the dealer. I don't understand why they can't just admit that there is a history of mirror problems on my car and fix them with no hassle. They tell me that I have to pay when they put a new program in it. Why should I pay for this? I didn't change with my laptop.
When I do take it in, I am given the feeling like I am doing something wrong to cause the problem. They don't seem to understand that I don't like to have this problem and having to arrange time off to take to get this problem fixed. Anyway, I hope these new mirror actuators correct the problem for good. Has anyone else had the mirror actuators replaced and had trouble since? |

I too am out of warranty and my mirrors will not stay put. I am going to my dealer and find out what can be done. I am with you, there should not be a charge to fix faulty software. Is it me, or is it since there are more computers in new cars the more problems we have? If my car was as reliable as the computer I am now using, I wouldn't have it. My computer invariably hiccups many times a week but if my car did it I would hunting someone with dogs. Why do computers get a pass? Refrigerators, TVs, and heat pumps don't. Sorry about the rant!

Re: Mirror memory on 2002 (arrgghhh!!!!)
I have a 2002 and its doing the same thing. Its not under any kind of warranty, so if i take it to the dealer, would it be covered on the TSB?
