to see if you a true racer!
well if you are a true racer.......ANSWER THIS!
1.) if you were about to lower your car....what would be the choices for lowering it........such as coilovers, new shock, cut springs....or what?.......what would u do as for getting new things in order for your car to ride smoothly..........answer for 1inch, 1.5inch, and 2+inch drop???????.............thanks to my fellow racerz!

I went with Ground Control coilovers, and KYB/AGX's. Both are very much adjustable, for ride height, and stiffness.

I like the KYB AGX shocks with eibach Pro Kit springs. You said you want a smoother ride, but if you want a racer, you gotta stiffen the suspension. I also wouldn't do more than a 2 inch drop. I would go 1.3 in the back, maybe 1.5 in the front. But if you got the dough, go with Koni's. Too bad my pockets are empty. :o(

I went with Skunk coilovers for springs and Koni(yellows) for shocks. They ride pretty good. I would have to say go with the ground controls cause they have a better spring rate, I would never go with a par of nonadjustable coils again.. Dont ever cut coils either thats just a bad and stupid idea. If you are going to do it do it right. Replace both springs and shocks cause your stock shocks probably wont last very long especially if you are very low.
You may also want to look into tie bars and sway bars if you are doing autoX racing or anything of that sort. If you lower you car make sure you have enough wheel clearance so that you tires wont rub under extreme cornering.

A real coilover setup instead of sleeves.
These always offer the best ride, having a shock specifically tuned for the spring (bound, rebound, spring rates, all work together) vs a sleeves that can fit any shock, and offer a hodge podge of variables most likely not working together make s me weiry. I would not do a sleeve like ground control or skunk I would go with a good lowering spring like Eibach prokit or Neuspeed sport, mates to Bilsteins, Koni yellow, or the KYB AGX or Tokico Illumina.

no, not bad, great for height adjustment. I bet you get a great ride, but, my point is most coilovers with threaded body shocks are application specific, which means the shocks are valved specifically to work with the springs on them. Unlike the sleeves where you throw them on any shock, and usually what that does, especilly when lowering the car is reduces the shocks compression stroke or travel, which reduces its dampening abilities. That is why sleeves and aftermarket shocks are, "not as good"
