***1969 Continental coupe, in da HOUSE! (I mean, apartment complex...)
Ok folks. Enough with everyone else showing of their hot new rides. It's time for something thats pure, something thats old-school, something thats... 5 miles to the gallon and the impratical size of a fucking boat.
Here it is. A 1969 Lincoln Continental coup with a 460ci (7.5L) big block V8. 100K original miles, with virtually no rust underneath the car, and paint in original condition. Body is super straight, minor dings and scratches though. Was someone's daily driver, and it runs like a charm. No leaks, no smoke. How much? $3500 out the door. Now you see why it was too good to pass up. As you can see, the vinyl top is completely gone, with rust spots bubbling underneath the material. I will get rid of the vinyl completely (never was a fan of vinyl). Interior is pretty clean, but of course, the leather needs to be redone. 80% of the electrical stuff works, including the 8-track. Plans: metallic black paint job with light gold flake, 20"s, bagged, HID-front lamps and custom LED tails, and of course, 3" true duals. You guys also remember the Toronado I had? Well, I got 20"s a while ago, so here are some pics. It sits in the garage, take it out every now and then for car shows and stuff: |

Sick car and sick price. My dad's got a 70 Mark III he's been trying to get rid of for the past few years. Definitely a fun car to cruise in. My favorite part was flooring it and watching the gas guage go down almost as fast as the speedometer went up.

Ya know what? Fuck all you guys. I still cant believe I have to get rid of the Talon but I think I might try to score a 80s Camaro. Theres one out back of my work and if its just sitting there rotting hopefully I can pick it up. If not maybe I can find one for cheap. My dad cant understand a DSM, maybe he can understand some muscle .

1) Financial aid covers school for now, plus I've sold my frikkin soul to loan agencies like Sally Mae for tons of money for books, and other school expenses (after sending about a billion emails, reciepts and tax returns back and forth, damn bureacracy!). 2) I live at home, parents never take rent from me, and I was working full-time...that meant some serious savings, after basic bills like cell phone, gas, etc, were paid. I'm not spoilt, just well-loved 3) The dough for the Toronado and the Lincoln actually came from my dad and my uncle, because I've convinced them that these classics are a good, solid long-term investment (there's no way in crap I could afford these on my own). After a lot of haggling, I forced them to divert some of their stock/funds for business towards me so I could do this classic car thing on the side. These vehicles are actually, uh, technically, not meant for driving around and slapping on 20"s n shiz (I did that with some of my own dough, lmao, cuz there's no way my dad was paying for my to "pimp" these classics). Instead, they are actually meant to be restored by me and then stored in a barn for the next 10 years or so. But I can't just go and buy whatever I want...the deals have to be pretty exceptional. The Toronado, for $4000, was the deal of a lifetime. I will probably never find another car like it for that price. My mechanic thought I was bullshitting him. It required no "fixing" or restoration of any sort, other than upgrading of the ignition system for more reliable driving, and not a spot of rust, and a 3" thick pile of uninterrupted records from 1969 to 2004! The Lincoln is actually my first "project", so to speak, since it actually requires me to "fix" (top and all), but shoot, there are such few coups left in such relatively good condition. So, all I'm doing is buying smart. People think I mustve put thousands in the Toronado to make it look like that, but you should see their jaw drop when I tell them how little I paid for everything. Actually, there was a 700 horespower twin engined Toronado for sale on eBay not too long ago. Yep, you hear that right. There were TWO Rocket 455's in that car; one in the front, one in the trunk, and the car was AWD. It was a one-off concept made for some famous guy back in the day. 1966 model. But that one didn't cost $4K . Bids went up to $30K IIRC. |
