bad idea or an ok idea

ok so last night i got pissed off because i have my amps mounted on the back of my fold down rear seats and i drive with them down and when i park they go up. well last night the new alpine pdx amp made contact with the terminal plugs for my subs. and now it has a burn mark on it so i thought of doing a custom amp enclosure having the top be pexiglass and have it frosted and have alpine across it since i decided to do a alpine system. and then have like 4 fans and atleast one form of cooling ( i was thinking of modifying liguid cooling for a computer to make it cool the heat sink) so is this a good idea bad idea or an ok idea.

Re: bad idea or an ok idea

as long as the amps are well ventilated i don't see the amp enclosure being a bad idea but thats just me

those PDX amps are VERY efficient, so you should not be having cooling problems unless I am not understanding how the amps are mounted right now. From what I am reading, you could just make a cover for the terminal plugs.

I guess what I was getting at was if you want to put them in an enclosed amp rack, you don't need a ton of air to cool them.

Re: bad idea or an ok idea

do a tunnel, put you amps in a row then put 2 or 3 small fans on one side pushing and the smae number of fans on the other side pulling

well, you're only really talking about $50 or so for supplies ... the rest is just labor.

yea but i don't have crap for tools so would have to buy as i need them. any way the point of doing this was to hid the burn mark on the amp. but then i remebered that the pdx's are stackable and when i get my new head unit i was looking at getting anohter pdx4-100 for the center speaker.
