Custom question

Sorry for dominating the page. I'll keep this brief.

Are there custom (colored) bulbs for the dash on a 97 malibu? I guess they are the standard white (Same as the license plate bulb) but is there an LED or something in the base of the dial of the guage? I noticed they glowed a slight amber.

Thanks!

Re: Custom question

I found colored 12v bulbs that are the same as the ones in my instrument cluster. At least they are the same as the replacement model. I have yet to pull the cluster out and see.

What I want to do is change the lighting to look like the VW Jetta. Cobalt blue numbers and hash marks with a dark red dial arm. The panel looks like you only need separate lights for the numbers but what about the dials? They are clear plastic and admit whatever color bulb is behind them. Is there a separate bulb for those or does the whole thing operate off of a couple of lights negating the ability to change individual components colors?

Thanks!

Re: Custom question

There is a how-to on www.malibuclub.ca or www.unitedmalibus.com that will show you how to modify the cluster to do this, and will give you the parts list.
