Regarding the Ford GT's supercharger
The GT seems to have absolutely no supercharger whine when the car is accelerating, how the heck did they do that?

Re: Regarding the Ford GT's supercharger
The motors exhaust notes itself are a lot louder, Plus this was a commercial man. Riding in the cockpit you can hear the whine, trust me.

Alot of cars have had pretty quiet super chargers. The T-bird sc for instance was pretty quiet. The new supercharged f-150s have loud superchargers It depends on the design.

I personally love that sound too. Someone in my neighborhood has a slightly older 5.0L Mustang GT than I do, but his is supercharged, and I can hear it when it's passing by me on the street, pretty nice sound if you ask me, makes me think of SPEED!

Re: Regarding the Ford GT's supercharger
Sorry but this is kinda related and wanted openions.
Does anyone know if Kenne Bell will release a supercharger for the thing? They released one for the 03 cobra and with some tuning it cranked out 630 some bhp from the 390 stock. Just wondering, cuz if they do that would be one bad azz super car! |

Re: Regarding the Ford GT's supercharger
well i would say that there will be a few companies that will get some crazy (read stupid) power fom this car, especally since there are companies that will throw twin turbos at Ferrari's and Vipers I'm sure therer will eventually be an 800 BHP kit for it or somthing along those lines

Re: Regarding the Ford GT's supercharger

I hear that SC whine and literally think of the HP being used to pull those belts. whereas the turbo hiss is literally the sound of exhaust being transformed into power. I read in one of the tests on the GT that near or at redline its taking up over 100 HP to run the blower. Mind you at that speed its producing a hell of a lot more than its eating up. But you get the idea eh. |

Re: Regarding the Ford GT's supercharger
The blower whine comes in large part from the rotor gears which typically have straight-cut teeth. If they had helical teeth, the blower would make alot less noise.
Also, turbos dont make power for free; they just use less. All that exhaust backpressure still puts drag on the engine.
