93 corsica stalls and lunges at low speeds and when stopping

My 93 corsica (3.1) stalls and/or lunges when coming to a stop. when traveling at very low speeds (10 - 15mph) it lunges as if i were tapping the gas. When I do come to a stop, if it does'nt stall the idle speed will return to normall after a few seconds. It starts fine every time after stalling, and runs great at normal speeds. I disconnected the TCC but I still have the same problem, though it seems to be a little better. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Need to check for trouble codes stored in computer. Sounds like a combination of dirty/defective IAC (Idle air control) and possibly a vacuum leak. The MAP sensor can cause problems and EGR as well, although these should set trouble codes... I would inspect the vacuum lines, especially the one going to MAP sensor as they will crack and leak from age/heat. Remove the IAC and clean it and the area it sits in,(be careful when handing, do not squeeze the spring). be sure to unhook the battery first before removing the IAC. Inspect your intake hose(the large one) for splits and cracks, as these will cause trouble too. Usually a tune up including plugs, wire, pcv valve, air filter, and vaccuum line fix will stop this sort of thing, unless you have a bad sensor. be sure to replace fuel filter on these cars every year so you do not loose a fuel pump.

Advance Auto and Autozone can check for free, but I hear that a lot of times that they will no longer check OBDI computer, which you have. There is a way to short the pins on your computer plug in but I do not remember how to do it. Advance carries a ODBI plug in tester for around 20-25 bucks, includes a book with codes in it, or perhaps they will loan you one. I understand they are renting a lot of stuff now. Would recommend spending another 12-15 bucks for a Haynes service manual, just is case you need further help. They are not as good a a factory manual but some procedures are better explained in them and they cost less.
