06 seatbelt chime reprogram?
Is there any way in 06 Sonata to reprogram the car so the seatbelt chime does not drive me nuts? I don't want to disable it, but when belt is disconnected (say, when you are waiting for wife to shop and want to listen to radio, or have to disconnect it to get to wallet), it "gongs" incessantly. How irritating. I'd like it to warn me when car first started, then be silent.
Saw on web that many other cars have ways to put the chime into different modes. Last edited by whitecage; 09-17-2005 at 01:31 PM. |

still looking for info
Me again...I'm still in need of this info (see previous). The seatbelt warning is driving me nuts. Its set-up is so aggravating--especially that it chimes (loudly) when belt is unbuckled after having it on. Dang it, if you unbuckle after having it on, obviously you did so intentionally.

If I am not mistaken the Chime Bell/buzzer is at the left side footwell just like in the Santa Fe.
I do belive the Sonata one is place in the simliar place. But to be sure, go to Hyundai Webtech and look up the Chime diagrams and just disconnect the buzzer. TS out

Thanks, twospirits. I may end up with a total disable, but I would prefer to keep the "lights still on" and "key still in" warnings. I even like an initial seat belt reminder (but wish it had a bit of delay to see if I was gonna hook it). It mostly is the gonging when I intentionally disconnect the belt to reach pockets or for whatever reason that drives me up the wall. Neither of my other two vehicles do that!
