98 speedometer
During 95f heatwave yesterday the speedo failed while driving. After sitting for 1 hour it was working again but failed again later and engine light came on and stayed lit.
Driving home at 9:00 pm speedo worked but light stayed on. Any clues? |

A guess here but perhaps the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is failing when hot. It's also called the shaft speed sensor and is located on the trans. Keep in mind that it could be that the sensor is good, but your having wiring/connector issues when hot. The real trick is to debug before replacing. You shold pull theOBD2 trouble code and see what that tells you.
