Engines

Hey guys, I have a 95 neon with a little over 167K miles on the engine. I'm looking to get a new engine, but I don't know what to go with. Any suggestions...I've heard about the SRT-4 Engine and the Stratus engine, but are there any different ones? I found a guy that would do the swap as long as I found the parts....any suggestions where to start too?

How much are you willing to spend? The SRT swap will cost more and will be more difficult than a 2.4 stratus swap. If you have someone willing to do the swap, but hasn't worked on a neon and an SRT before it will be a wiring nightmare for them. You're best bet would be a 2.4 stratus engine. It uses most of your stock engine stuff and you only need a few modifications to make it fit. You can even slap a turbo on it

You need different motor mounts, a different fuel system, and a couple of small things in between. JLM Motorsports sells a motor monut swap kit.

You can also put a PT cruiser engine in there also. I forgot to mention that.

Re: Engines

other than the wiring disaster, the PT/stratus swap is the same as the srt swap. wiring isnt that hard, just be patient when your doing it!
