Don't hold your breathe for that to happen. Look at how long European Ford had the Escort Cosworth, RS200 and the Sierra Cosworth. When we did get the Sierra it was called a Merkur and was not the Cosworth edition. Ford does not want to hurt Mustang sales here. Personally I think the Mustang sales would not be hurt by a V6 perfromance car. The Cougar/Puma could really use the performance package to boost sales here.

The Mustang is in a completely different category than a little FWDer car like the Puma. The Puma is apparently being discontinued altogether. Unfortunately, Ford has been pretty poor at determining what vehicles should be sold in the US markets. I think the Puma is one that would do very well.

They've also been hit with serious issues surrounding their cars in general recently. For some reason, it seems to be okay to sell American's junk, while everybody else in the world gets quality. IE Focus. So strange and absolutely depressing.

Ok puma is a cool rare car , but the focus is a cool car too. One of the only things i dont like about the focus is there a dime a dozen.
I only seen a ford puma in canada once and it was heavily modified for rally racing but street legal. The engine it previously had was replaced with a 2.0 Z-tec with supercharger and lots of other goodies. The guy drag raced a corvette 1/8 miles and won every time.

are you talking about the puma st160?
don't count on it.
it was practically hand built in uk and production stopped ages ago due to low demand (high cost).
if you want one, you'd have to import second hand.

production of the regular 1.4/1.6/1.7 has also stopped for quite a while now.
again, second hand is your best bet.

as for whether it is better looking or faster...
well, i'd say it definitely looks better but i'm not sure if it's faster than any type-r cos it does have a simple unstressed engine under the hood.

on a quick note about the cosworth, rs200 and similar is that they don't need to.
often, those cars were made for homolagation purposes and seeing as you guys didn't actually pay much attention to the races for which they were made, there was no point trying to sell you the cars from the races.

focus being a dime a dozen? i think i've only ever seen three focus RS on the road so far...
yeah the regular models are common
BUT
that's kinda what makes the RS more special when you see it (come to think of it, i've only seen two puma st160s...)
