Transmission Adjustment

My son burned up his Z31 Auto Transmission from his project car. It turned out that Z's are notorious for burning up tranny's because of the radiator failing. We found a used tranny and had it put in. Almost the same thing happened again. Talked with a tranny shop and they said it was very common. Replace the radiator, which we did as well as add a Hayden aftermarket cooler for the tranny. Really easy to do. Seems to have worked, but the car won't shift to the right last gear and end up with a 3500 rpm going 60 mph or so. Does anyone know of a way to adjust something to correct this problem? We will try to get the guy that did the installation, but he is hard to corner.
