Re: Attention!! F.A.Q.s thread...
The lip from the 97 ITR will fit the 94-97 tegs and the lip from the 98+ will fit the 98+tegs.

oil in the plug holes!
Hi - I am new to this forum, and trying to find out why my spark plug holes are full of oil!
Its only got about 100 thousand miles (150Km) on it, and seems to run great. Can someone tell me what the problem is? Whats the easiest (cheapest) fix? Is this a common problem for the 1.6 litre? I am in your debt - many thanks! PS- I tried to search this site using 'oil in spark plug holes' but to no use! |

It is more than likely the seals that are on the valve cover. What you need is the four seals, valve cover gasket and some Honda Bond. Take the valve cover off and reaplce the seals, then put some Honda Bond on the corners of the new valve cover gasket, only the side that goes down not the side that touches the valve cover itself.

Swapping Parts
I read through the entire FAQ listing and didn't see any post talking about b18c parts on a b18a so I thought I would ask. Could someone put up a list of parts that are mutual between the two different blocks. I am particularily interested in the intake manifold off a GSR for my 91 b18a. I would be cheaper than say a skunk2 intake manifold or the venom manifolds. Thanks hopefully this will be helpful to more than just myself.

alright, it is VTEC but no biggie...
anywhoo...here we go. w/ a budget like that (im going to assume that u have a gsr w/ a b18c1 motor), u could build a decently quick little car. u could go for forced induction (s/c, t/c or nitrous) and that'd be the most power for the least amount of money (nitrous especially.) whtteg knows more about nitrous than i do, so i'd suggest asking him for some extra information if ur interested in that route. the only main problem w/ the turbo/s/c would be that u wouldn't have much money to build the internals of ur motor. which would mean that you could run around 6-7 psi SAFELY and see mid-high 13 secound passes as long as u can drive. if u wanted to go all motor, then u could start w/ the standard i/h/e/cams/ecu etc route...u'd get less power from the additions (considering the i/h/e is only going to free up the power the stock parts resrict) but at the same time u'll have a very reliable street car that is a bit slower. hope i was some help, sorry to be so brief and broad, but i gotta get going.

Re: Attention!! F.A.Q.s thread...
I got a 2001 Integra LS stock auto tranny. I know its good for turbo and not ls vtec. Im just wondering if gsr or type R -turbo can spank my ls turbo? Some say yes, and some say no cuz of ls low compression. I want to know the real fact before i buy em, and what turbo is best for my car? Im thinking Garrett turbo. Well if i get a turbo, will it be faster if my car is converted to stick ? Last q, how much will all these cost, and if the turbo last long, reliable and everyday commute vehicle? Krn racer wassup, seem like your the know it all. Holla back

Re: Attention!! F.A.Q.s thread...
if u get the same turbo and set it at the same psi then the gsr or type r will beat a ls....the compression has nothing to do with speed....
high compression + high boost = blown engine low compression + moderate boost = good they say ls/rs/gs are better for turbo cuz you can run about 8 -12 psi without rebuilding your pistons and stuff gsr and type r have higher compression rate so adding the same amount of boost to these will put alot of strain on the pistons and they might blow up with all that said...if u have the same turbo and set it on the same boost level....whoever has the faster stock car to begin with will win |

Sooo....everone.......since hondas get power from reving high (and u cant rev high w/ a ls/vtec)......its pointless.....although i want to do one myself (now my intentions r shifting towards a turbo...good idea?).....if anyone can correct me about the ls/vtec comment ......please do so!
